Bryana Says This piece came about thanks to Marija Tiurina's DTIYS challenge in March of 2025. She suggested we render a character that maybe looks a little bit like us and is carrying a favorite plant of ours out of winter and into the spring. My character is wearing the blue hat and scarf my brother bought me for Christmas, carrying a cutting of sunny forsythia (a plant I swoon for), and accompanied by a gold-green Indian white-eye. (These birds are not native to where I live and don't, as far as I know, share the same climate as forsythia, but art, I always think, is allowed to take a few liberties! ;))
