ABOUT THIS LISTING This listing is for a 24-page illustrated zine featuring ten original proverbs accompanied by ten intricate and whimsical surreal watercolor paintings paired with embellished gouache mats to create a kind of elaborate border. The zine is typeset in a font created from my handwriting, and all its illustrations were painted with traditional media (watercolor on cotton paper and gouache on cotton fiber matboard) and then scanned for digitization. (Some of the original illustrations are shown in the listing photos as props, but the original paintings are not included with this listing, only the printed chapbook.) The zine measures 8.5 x 8.5 inches and is professionally-printed on 100lb satin paper. It ships to you directly from my small home studio in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Seen in the listing photos are illustrations for proverbs "Be As Brave As You Can," "Know What You Know," "Know What You Don't," and "Care For What Counts On You."
Please Note: This zine contains only the ten "Maxims" illustrations accompanied by their respective proverbs. It does not include the textual reflections that originally accompanied these paintings when they were first presented to Patreon supporters in 2025.
