Bryana Says My schedule has been complicated by chronic pain throughout my entire adult life, and I think it’s natural for pain to feel like an enemy or at least a very unwelcome guest. I feel this way too. But sometimes I feel something a little different: an ability & even an urge to embrace the moment that is—rather than expending all my energy yearning after a moment that is not. I wanted to express the way sadness and even pain can be almost like a familiar, if dubious, friend—when they are accepted as the reality of the moment rather than met with relentless hankering after what might have been had they not arrived.
