About This Listing
Like so many of you, I’m heartsick over the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Afghanistan and longing to participate in the global effort to send aid and solidarity to the Afghan people in this complicated and frightening time. I have so little to offer in the way of financial support just now, so I have done the only thing I know of to do and it’s painting. My piece “There Goes The Darling Bird” was painted late into the night specifically to benefit NGOs operating in Afghanistan. It’s a reflection on Peace, how quickly it can take wing, how fragile and feathered it is, how fervently we must cherish it.

The original piece has already been auctioned to raise funds for Afghanistan, but you can order archival-quality fine art prints using this listing. All profits from the prints will be donated to humanitarian aid organizations operating in Afghanistan (purchases are currently benefiting The International Rescue Committee and Women for Afghan Women). The amount of your purchase that will be donated is as follows: For each purchase of a 5x7 print, $11 will benefit NGOs in Afghanistan. (The other $5 will cover the cost of the print and some of the shipping. I will be paying for a small amount of the shipping and handling costs out of pocket.) For each purchase of an 8x10 print, $20 will benefit NGOs in Afghanistan. (The other $10 will cover the cost of the print and some of the shipping. I will be paying for a small amount of the shipping and handling costs out of pocket.)

The artwork is printed on 340 gsm archival-quality watercolor paper, and each print will be signed by me. Please note that the 8x10 prints include a white border and the 5x7 prints are trimmed on the left and right sides to fit the modified aspect ratio. (You can see images of both print sizes in the listing photos.) Don't hesitate to reach out to me via the contact form with any questions or concerns!

Shipping Notice
Ships for free within the United States! Please allow 2-4 business days for this item to ship. Prints shipped within the US will be mailed with cardboard backing to ensure maximum durability during transit.

International Shipping Notice
Free international shipping is now available for my small fine art prints (those measuring under 5x7 inches), but please note that if you are located outside the United States, your print will be shipped as a letter. It will be mailed in a Kraft paper envelope with a protective cellophane sleeve but without cardboard backing or tracking. This is because international USPS rates for rigid packages are prohibitive for items of this size. (However, if you'd like to pay to have your print shipped with tracking and cardboard backing, feel free to select the "USPS First Class International" option during checkout.)
