In honor of the joyful advent of the light, I have recorded a little song I wrote. It is based off of Mary’s Song, often referred to as the Magnificat, which can be found in the Gospel of Luke. Also referenced are these verses from the second chapter of Hebrews.

  1. Lovely! What a refreshing contrast to the jangling noise that passes for Christmas music in the public places. The best music springs from the secret place alone with God, which you obviously know! Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thank you for your kind words, Terri!

It is jangling noise, isn’t it — our culture’s pitiful attempts at celebrating this thing that they do not begin to understand?

But the miracle is so vast that colossal music cannot help but come out of it sometimes. I plan to share about some of my favorite Christmas albums later this week.

Do you have any favorites you would recommend? Any artists you know of who have scratched the surface of the mystery?

  2. Very nice indeed. I love the delicate arrangement of the guitar, and as for the words…well, you really can’t get much better than then Bible. ๐Ÿ™‚ Btw, I have so enjoyed reading your blog, especially reading your poetry (which I downloaded from Amazon and have been devouring). I wanted to share the share the joy, so if you get a moment, please check out my blog…nominated you for a purely optional award. Thanks again! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thanks for the encouragement! Yes, it stuns me sometimes how much truly fresh poetry is hidden in the pages of the Bible, just waiting to be sung out. ๐Ÿ™‚

I am honored by the award that you posted on your blog. I always enjoy your posts as well and love to read your comments.

So glad you’re enjoying the book. Perhaps if you feel up to it you might consider writing a little review for Amazon when you have finished it and have a chance to do so? I would be much obliged to you ๐Ÿ™‚
